English Grammar: Subject vs Object

Aug 21, 2013 | Literacy

from the English Grammar for Dyslexics series:
A SUBJECT is a person or thing that acts.
An OBJECT is the person or thing that something happens to.

Pronouns change according to how they are used in a sentence: I like to play basketball. The ball belongs to me.
“I” is the subject, “me” is the object of I.
