Recess NOT a Luxury

“Recess is a crucial and necessary component of a child’s development and, as such, it should not be withheld for punitive or academic reasons.”

I couldn’t agree more. How unhealthy is it for a child to sit upright in the same position for hours with small breaks? We all need to move, learn to balance, interact, focus, touch, sense, smell, be in nature, climb and not only our physical but also our mental health will benefit.
